Welcome back! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are as excited as we are to begin a new school year.
We are looking forward to welcoming our students and families back into the building and getting started together. Please take a moment to review the important information below as we prepare for a fantastic year ahead.
School Hot Lunch Program

- Orders close on Wednesday, September 2 at 12:00 p.m.
- The Hot Lunch Program begins on Tuesday, September 8
Pre-Primary Families
Open House on Wednesday, September 2 | 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
More detailed information will be shared by our Pre-Primary team early next week.
PowerSchool Parent Portal
The PowerSchool Parent Portal (https://sishrsb.ednet.ns.ca/public/) will open on Wednesday, September 2 at 3:00 p.m. Families can log in at that time to view their child(ren)'s classroom assignment.
Curriculum Night
Wednesday, September 2 | 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. - Homeroom visit. Families will be welcomed by their child's classroom teacher, and important classroom information will be shared. Student supplies may also be dropped off at this time.
6:25 p.m. - Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend a second session in another classroom if they have more than one child attending PLES and/or visit our school specialists.
6:50 p.m. - Have a great evening! We're excited for tomorrow. Ready, Set, Learn!
First Day of School
Thursday, September 3
- Staff supervision on the playground begins at 7:50 a.m.
- Please look for your child(ren)'s teacher, who will be holding a clipboard with their class name.
- Meeting locations:
- Grades 3-6: Front of the building
- Grades 1-2: Side of the building
- Pre-Primary and Primary Families: Additional details will be shared next week
To help ensure a smooth and safe start to the day, and to support students in building independence and settling into their new routines, families are asked not to accompany students to their classrooms.
