It is another busy and exciting week at Porters Lake Elementary!
We begin the week with our first School Advisory Council and Parent-Teacher Organization meetings of the year. The SAC meeting will take place on Monday at 6:00 p.m., followed by the PTO meeting at 7:00 p.m. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend and learn more about becoming involved in our school community.
On Tuesday, students and staff will participate in a Hold and Secure Drill. This drill helps us practise how the school responds to situations outside the building while students continue learning safely inside.
On Wednesday, we will come together for our annual Terry Fox Run, celebrating Terry’s legacy of courage, hope, and perseverance.

We are looking for lunch monitors to help supervise students during the lunch hour. This is a meaningful way to support our school community and make a positive difference in students’ day. Please contact the school office if you are interested or would like more information.
Families are reminded that personal electronic devices, including cell phones, tablets, and gaming devices, should remain at home. If a device is brought to school, it will be kept at the office until it can be collected by a parent or guardian.
We are also reminding students about the importance of washing their hands after using the washroom and before eating.
