As we move further into September, we are looking forward to another busy and exciting week at Porters Lake Elementary School. This week includes our first school Lockdown Drill on Tuesday, September 15, and School Picture Day on Thursday, September 17.
Morning drop-off has been going very well. Thank you for helping keep our school grounds safe. We encourage families, when possible, to allow students to enter and play independently before the bell. Building independence and social connections is an important part of student growth.
As we continue to embrace outdoor learning and play throughout the fall, please consider sending a change of clothes with your child. Students will be outside as often as possible, even during damp or muddy weather. PDF]

Student Toys
We are seeing increased interest in squishy collectibles and similar toys. Families are reminded that items brought to school are done so at their own risk. While we do not encourage trading, it can be difficult to monitor. We have seen situations where trades have led to disappointment for students, and we appreciate your support in discussing responsible decisions with your child
