PLES Family Forecast: October 5–9
Hello PLES Families,
October is off to a busy and exciting start at PLES!
This week, we are recognizing Mi’kmaw History Month and its theme,“Nepisulti'k” (“We Are Healing”). The theme is inspired by the teachings of the late Elder Murdena Marshall and highlights healing as a lifelong journey rooted in self-understanding, history, relationships, and connection. We are also recognizing Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10. Students will be learning about fire safety, including safe charging practices for phones, tablets, gaming devices, and other electronics. Families are encouraged to continue these conversations at home, review family emergency plans, and check smoke alarms together. [PLES Famil...st Oct 5-9 | PDF]

We are looking for donations of individually packaged treats, chips, juice boxes, water, and other snack items, as well as volunteers to help before, during, and after the event. As Halloween approaches, families are reminded that costumes must not include weapons or weapon replicas. Costume accessories that are an important part of a costume may be brought to school at the family’s own risk, as the school cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items.
